Thank you for your reply. We have asked the distributors that have contacted us regarding our findings of unethical and immoral issues as well as lawsuits. They're reply was, "How can you rely on the internet?" There are so many lost souls that have nothing better to do then stay up all night and type articles to cause problems. Well, my opinion is...if these people have nothing better to do and are not affiliated or had been affiliated, then how is it that they happen to use the very same wording that you do? It is very scary. The brainwashing of "listen to me to be successful, read my books, listen to my tapes, and attend the rallies and you will succeed, MY WAY" is so mind boggling. I thought that the government was bad. Whew.
You're doing great. Do keep up the good work--shedding light on a very shrouded subject. The unfortunate aspect is that those who really need to see and read this information are the ones paying for their Diamond to stay $15,000 dollar a month home in Florida for the winter. Isn't it funny functions always fall in time frames when person expenses increase for leisure and relaxation. Look at it this way, beginning of the year you have Leadership Weekend, Summer you have Family Reunion, then that wonderful Dream Weekend right before Christmas. They all correspond to Tax Time, Summer Vacation, and you guessed it the Christmas Holidays. The wonderful downline pays for it all.
Yep, I'm a little miffed myself with the large piles of cow manure spread by any AMO. Then Amway comes along and puts a muzzle on its distributors and says essentially put a sock in it and you can't sue me. [The writer is referring to the new "Business Support Materials Arbitration Agreement, which distributors must sign when they renew their distributorship each year.] Good business practices, I dare say not. No business owner in his right mind would give up his legal rights for any amount of money, and they wouldn't think of letting a supplier dictate how they do business. To many other suppliers on the market to have to accept it.
My background is a 4 year distributor not renewing this year. I won't lose something I never gained,i.e. money. I have a bad taste in my mouth from that A-toothpaste,the Big A, and AMO's. Your comments and response to arguements made by the ones so whole heartedly committed to AMO's is very refreshing and beneficial. We all like to get ammo for our canons when shooting down the College of A grads and their devoted non-paid sales force.
Thank you for the information that you provide. My assistant and his wife are heavily into Amway. Amway is changing their lives but I don't think for the better. You know the routine better than I do. The reason I am writing is to ask if you could give me some answers to the standard lines and arguments that Amway distributors espouse. From reading these anti-Amway sites it is clear that all distributors are cut from the same cloth, using the same jargon they have all been told. I wonder if someone such as yourself with the inside knowledge can supply such a counter-argument to their claims. Could you please make up a list of standard Amway BS vs factual truth? Of course my assistant isn't likely to listen anyway but we can give it a try. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Blessing to you.
Well after reading the numerous comments and lawsuits (pending & settled) we decided that it was not worth our time and efforts to seek the "truths" as the distributors have said. I find it ironic that so many people in different areas of the world say the same thing. Quite coincidental if you ask me. None the less, they don't seem to know what the word "NO" means. They continue to call me at work not to mention the wife use to work where I work. They have pulled two others prior to my husband and I, into the Amway web. I feel uncomfortable at work for fear that my future employment may be at jeopardy. I will talk to the necessary people to secure my position before they can plot the attack so to speak. I really feel that once they get it through their thick, stubborn, and narrow ways of thinking (Amway or Nowhere) that they may try to find error in my career.
They had better not go there.
These amway people are crazy, I wonder how many of them are successful and are retired after 2 to 5 years of being amway IDIOTS. They are being led to become the worst of what they could be. If this is such a nice business, this website would note be here. WAKE UP PEOPLE FROM AMWAY AND FACE REALITY.
Last night we had an Amway representative and his wife visit our home. My husband and I were both skeptical but listened anyway. My husband kept telling them that this was a pyramid but they kept saying no. They are a legal busy they told us. They told us that the motivational tapes do not bring the company any money. I'm not that stupid. The one stupid remark the gentleman made was about an attorney involved in cases with Amway. Hearing this I decided to go on the internet today and learn more about this company. Thank God for the internet and the valuable information I learned about these scammers. These lovely people are coming back to my home on Thursday I can't wait to talk to them about the Proctor & Gamble suit and how itreally is a pyramid. Thank you for making us aware.
I have been an Amway distributor for 1 1/2 years now and have always found it kind of strange how my upline always stressed "tapes, books, functions." It was only a few days ago that I stumbled upon some material on the Internet claiming that upline Diamonds and such made their money off tool orders.
If this is true (and it certainly seems to be), PLEASE, PLEASE send me as much information as you can! Amway itself is a very good company and the money-making aspect is there, but it doesn't seem right that people are making their "Amway-wealth" on non-Amway products.
Thanks for the tools information. I will definately be checking into it with my upline emerald. Of course, he'll probably either say 1) I don't need to worry about it yet because I'm not a direct or 2) No, he doesn't make that much money off the tools (whcih would be a straight lie). But, I'll let you know what happens when I talk to him.
Along the same line, have you heard anything about the "brainwashing" and "cult-tactics" from upline distributors. Some sites on the web such as: http://www.ex-cult.org/Groups/Amway have documents claiming that pressures to be successful made people buy tools and attend functions under the promise that they would be rich someday, but only losing their money.
You know, I had always heard the stories about how people "lost their shirt" in Amway, but once I got in, I said "How could this be? All the products are 100% returnable and they even pay for shipping". I've even returned some products and did get all of money back. But then I starting looking into the tool area and started seeing all the stories of people being coerced (to put it nicely) into going to functions, buying more and more tapes, etc. All the time, they are under the promise from their diamond and such that "they too will have what we have." Eventually, though, a lot of people have said enough is enough and quit just so they would not have to buy more tools. Sort a shame since the Amway plan and products are very good, as well as being a good source of income-- provided you move the products (as Amway tells you to do).
Again, I would be very interested in any stories about the tactics used by some uplines to make their groups believe that by spending all their money on tools they will become successful.
I was in the Amway business back in '71 in the Yager organization. Being only 21 at the time, I was somewhat naive about the true nature of how income was generated.
Bill Britt was talking to one of his directs, not knowing I was in the same room. He excitedly told him how he saw Dexter Yager carrying a suitcase with $150,000.00 in it.
This really got my attention. When Britt found out I had overheard this, he seemed very nervous, and admonished me NEVER to breathe a word of this to ANYONE!
I have a question to ask about Amway and business practices. Is it legal for distributers and down-line people to make an "independent incorporation" under Amway and not have a business license? I know someone in the "Amay business" and I know they've been suckered in by the promise of "Big Bucks". They've never made a profit and still keep defending "the Business", as they so fondly call it. I just can't understand how someone could be so blind as to not see the big picture.
I just wish there was a way to ruin the Amway corporation publicly and make their down-lines see them for what they really are; Bloodsuckers!! I would greatly appreciate a reply sometime during the next week.
We started to become disillusioned with some things we saw and heard in the business, plus the fact that in 6 years we had not helped one single person in our business make any money. At any rate, after deciding to take a break from the business to settle some things in our lives, we discovered from the websites that most of the money is made in the system. One we realized that was where the big money was made, we were quite sickened by the whole thing. We pulled our group together and told them what we knew. Some people quit and others are still participating. It's a long story.
I think it is frightening giving Amway their own TV channel, it is bad enough with all the tapes and books, but it is so much easier to brainwash people through TV. It is not time that a class action was organised to help the millions of people who has already been touched financially and mentally by this dangerous organisation?
I was an emerald in amway and lost everything i owned, i want to use you info on this site for good.
I like your web site. As a matter of fact i am gonna start one as well. I just hate that i have to sit around and watch a friend of mine fall into it. I was smart enough to say to hell with that. But he is all caught up in it and trying to recruit people into it. He just today told a friend of mine to sell his TV to buy a kit! What the hell is that. To make it worse we are all in the ARMY!! He is a Sergeant and spewing his garbarge at young and very influential Privates.....who dont make much anyway and telling them to buy the kit. Some of these guys can't even pay all the bill they already have so they take the word of and NCO and try it. No matter what i have done i cant make them see the light! How can i do this?
