I almost feel ashamed of myself. I am 38 years old and should have known better. I went to the great meetings at the local Holiday Inn. These meetings talked a lot about the great lifestyles these people were living and the income potential for me. I foolishly became an AMWAY IBO in order to get in on the "ground floor" of QUIXTAR. Something told me this just didn't feel right. Now the great QUIXTAR has arrived and I cannot even get into the web site. Not enough info from my upline. I have already had enough of the Rah Rah rhetoric, pressure and lies. I hope the desperate people I saw at the meetings don't quit saving money for their futures or quit their jobs. These overweight, balding, well dressed QUIXTAR sideshow men shold really think about the lies they tell.

Re: Amway/Quixtar

First about the renewal fees for Amway and Quixtar. Amway's fees are larger because they involve sending mail to all the distributors. That costs a lot of money. Also, the monthly magazine is mailed out to the distributors. You can see where this is going, so I won't insult your intelligence.

Quixtar on the other hand, will be communicating to its distributors through email and the Quixtar site.

Next, Quixnet. Quixnet is an ISP that offers pre-filtered content. There are fours different levels of filtering. I use #4 - no filters. This really is just to block sites that people may find objectionable to themselves and their children.

The "Technology Partners" was misrepresented by some people. What they are/were doing is setting up the site. Calling them technolgy partners was intended to let people know who was building the hardware/software/pages.

Until later, keep up the work. It is interesting to see what people are doing and saying about the business.

Quitar IBO,

Re: Quixtar

Just a question? I never joined Amway, however I had friends who did. To date most are not my friends now because I refused to join their circle, and most are no where near as successful as I am working my regular 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. job. I recently had a friend I haven't talked to in nearly 5 years call me a couple of months ago and said he was coming to town from his home in Utah. He said he had a business meeting in OKC and wanted to see me. I was excited. He said if I wasn't busy he would like for me to come to his business meeting????? I asked him if this was possible? He said I would like it. Well, I didn't. It was in some old converted hotel room, a cheap hotel might I add. It was hot! There were about 10 people there, half related to each other, and myself. There was some guy dressed in all kinds of fancy clothing items flaughnting his get rich at no time or expense scheme. Quixtar was the answer. Join now they preached for nearly three hours. When some agreed, they were given the Amway paperwork. No where was Quixtar to be found. It would only cast $99.95 now, and notheing to convert to Quixtar 9/1/99. Well, I had heard this pitch before, and was not buying it. Not to be rude to my friend, but I told the people pushing this crap that I would not do anything until I saw Quixtar open.

Well, my question is: It's 9/3/99 and I ve been trying for 3 days to get into www.quixtar.com, and all I get is error messages. Is it open and can you get into it? My friend has yet to return my calls inquiring as to its status. Some friend!

I can access Quixnet, and I've seen the rocket launch on www.countdown9/1/99.com, but no Quixtar. Help!

This seemed interesting to me and I began to get sucked into the MLM concept.

Any response would be appreciated. By the way, I live in Oklahoma where MLM's (pyramids) are supposed to be illegal. Should these guys be marketing this crap here?

MLM suspicious!

Re: Thanks

Thanks for your fine work, you make it easier to de-program and save friends from the hell of MLM.

Re: Quixtar

Thank you for your site. I enjoyed reading it and learned alot of interesting news. My sister recently bought me into quixtar against my wishes believing that it would be to the good of her family. Not only did she buy my kit but several other family menbers as well. She herself is very poor and it took all her savings to do this. I did not want to participate at all but after she payed I felt obiligated to try this out. It seems that it is exactly what I thought it would be and I am so hurt for her. She really believed in it. Thanks so much for your page because she doesnt even own a computer but now I can relay what other thinks to her by snailmail. I hope people with a computer like me gets a chance to read before they join any type of ibo.

Re: Equinox

Any news on how things went for Equinox at Weds/Thurs. hearings? I would appreciate any assistance or guidance you have to offer. I have not been able to locate any updates and the last info I was able to obtain was from the company's website and was as follows:

Equinox International, Inc. -- Status as of August 17, 1999.

On August 5th, 1999 the US District Court issued a Temporary Restraining Order freezing assets and appointing a Temporary Receiver to take control of the Company. The Temporary Receiver assumed control at 4:00 PM on August 6th. At a hearing in the US District Court on August 16th, 1999 the Court ordered the Temporary Restraining Order extended and, at the request of the Company, set a two-day hearing for September 1 and 2, 1999. At that hearing it is anticipated that the Court will determine if the Temporary Restraining Order should be dissolved, extended, or modified.

Currently the company is able to:

Accept orders from any sales representative or customer placing such an order. These orders shall be governed by Equinox's Policies and Procedures, except for first-time sales representatives, whose initial orders shall be limited to $1,000.

Ship all current and future orders.

Pay rebates on all orders in accordance with Equinox's Policies and Procedures.

Process refunds in accordance with Equinox's Policies and Procedures.

At this time, the company is not able to confirm the status of future seminars and other training events or pay any bonuses to any representatives. However, the upcoming US District Court Hearing, scheduled for September 1 and 2, will most likely provide further direction regarding these matters.

The Temporary Receiver has determined that currently the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its known creditor obligations. Subject to continued liquidity and future direction of the Court, the Temporary Receiver intends to pay current trade creditor obligations, to unrelated parties, as they become due.

No other information is available pending further instructions from the Court.

I appreciate your time regarding this and hope you have a safe Labor Day weekend!

I just spent an hour reading all of your "garbage" and ended with the information from "Larry" and you know what? He's right ! Maybe Ken McDonald just wasn't ready to publicly reveal this information, but for what ever reason, "Larry" knew what he was talking about, and frankly, YOU DON'T.

Re: Equinox

This story almost/actually did drive me to tears. My wife and I...Mostly myself, got involved with Equinox International back in 1995 by paying $5k to become a manager. From there it just continued to snowball. Renting a desk in the local Equinox office, seminar after seminar after seminar ranging in price from$300--up to $1600. and even more! I was sucked in and believe it or not I was being brainwashed that I could achieve my dreams through this kind of business. It all finally ended in late 1996 with both my wife and myself filing Bancrupcy for $68000. in credit card debt racked up from this multi level scam of a company. What's worse is I destroyed many friendships by trying to recruit my family and friends. Thank You for your article "One Man's Story" --Almost exactly what I went through! I am still scarred to this day from Equinox International, but am learning to move on.

Thanks for putting the effort into this website.

I do believe there are a few good MLM's out there, but I've been through a bunch that were not. I like Dorling Kindersley Family Learning because you can either go the MLM way or be a legitimate seller of quality books to individuals and schools and forget about trying to recruit all your friends.

I always wanted to start a business called "MLMML"....that is Multi-Level Marketers' Merchandise Liquidators... to help all those MLM'ers get rid of all the stuff they bought and can't sell.... Imagine all the grateful people with garages full of cases of this and that...

Re: Amway/Quixtar

Hi, your MLM site helped me out a bunch. Some guy keeps buggin me at wirk about this Quixtar thing and giving me tapes and stuff to listen too. >From checking out your site, I'm gonna tell him to kiss my ass. I'mnot into that Amway thing, and I'm sure not gonna ever bug my friends and family to sell them something for me to mkae money. That was my entire concern, is Quixtar just like Amway where you get people to sign up and that's how you make money. Hell if I'm gonna do that.

Thanks a million again, love to hear back from you and your thoughts :)

Take care,

To those Posting Here:

Folks! Please take at least SOME personal responsibility for your own choices & actions !

A multitude of "I bought $$$ of tapes", "I traveled to meetings", etc., are obvious hints that those writing have NO sense of their freedom to act independently(or NOT)as they see fit. Naive college kids and others that allow themselves to be "brainwashed" by "MLM'ers", need to ask themselves : who screwed who?

There is a growing mentality afoot that contends that "the government must PROTECT me from myself" , "the corporations are evil" , "when I lose money in a venture of my choosing, I deserve compensation"...etc,etc...

PLEASE...give some thought...your taxes will only go up if litigation grows with frivolous cases, if complete control over individual fortunes is transferred from the citizens to the Lawyers & the Federal Government. Your State of residence should be your point of focus.

Those to which you surrender responsiblity, will surely OWN your freedom.

If you are uninformed, please don't attack me. Read books, study history...

Re: Quixtar

Thanks for your support. I am presently not employed. I am still being treated for depression. I worked for a company for over 27 years, and will not be going back (their decision). Needless to say, my self-esteem is stil very low and the experience with Quixtar/Amway did not help.

I checked back, and I purchased the kit on Feb 5 of this year, so the 6 months has passed. Thanks for the information I found on your website. I do feel better that I am not the only one that experienced unpleasant circumstances with this company. I have read most of the posts on our site and it seems many people were scammed.

Thanks for listening!

Re: Amway/Quixtar

Have you been hurt somehow by some MLM along the way? Seems like you just want to argue or twist the truth. Check out the Quixtar site, you can visit without signing up. As a disabled person, I have found Amway and now Quixtar to be beacons of hope. They are fair and have very minimal start up costs. What more could you want? I really encourage you to check out all the facts before trying to downgrade what is probably the best and most ethical business opportunities around. K. Le Roy Pearcy (Amway distributor and Quixtar IBO).

Well I must say you have gone to the extreme to try and keep people from succeeding. Any mlm that encourages people to grow as individuals and become better members of society and try and give a little back has my support. You on the other hand probably believe in sensoring prayer from school and hope for a welfare state, so I'm not sure why I'm even bother to waste my time with you, but a little negative in a day helps keep it away from the positive folks in the world, so thanks for the opportunity to release a little back on you small thinking JOB lovers.

Re: William J. McCorkle

I was just reading on your website and I saw that article about William J. McCorkle and his stupid real estate gimmick. Is the article you have on your site actaully for real or is it just for fun? The reason I ask is because I bought that enchilada program and feel really taken. I can't believe I fell for that crap. Disgusted with scams,

[The page at www.mlmsurvivor.com/enchilada.htm is truth. The next page, www.mlmsurvivor.com/enchilada2.htm, is satire.]

Re: Amway/Quixtar

Like I said, some of the groups still do goofy things. They call it "Amway," but it in no way resembles what I do or what I've seen in this group. None of the Diamonds in our organization get involved with tape production or any of that stuff that resembles traditional business. And until we all could no longer fit into a Convention arena, all the Diamonds plugged into one Executive Diamond. Three of them have had to split off, but they all still use their upline Crown Ambassador's system (as do a whole bunch of Diamonds crossline and in his upline). They're wise enough to realize that what Bill Britt started years ago when he broke off from Dexter to start his own deal just doesn't work in the long run, as Bill's downline duplicated him and broke off to start their own system. After a while, it was a well-watered down version of the regular brew and it just didn't work as well. At one of the IED (Britt split-off group) Leadership Functions, there might be close to 300 people in a small hotel conference room. Our last Leadership had over 5000 people. 10 years later I'm paying the same amount of cash and the guest speakers are a veritable Who's Who in America--General Schwarzkopff, John Wooden, John Maxwell, Dennis Waitley, Rudy, Miss America (can't remember her name), Joe Theisman, Ken Blanchard, Andy Andrews, Clebe McClary, etc, etc. Yet the cost (investment) is the same amount of money I spent a decade earlier for some very mediocre information.

And now that the company has wised up, due to the input from our Crown Ambassador (Tim Foley), new DD's are making some serious cash. There are lots of new bonuses and if the PV is sustained for 12 months, it adds up to $18K over what they already made at the 25% level. There was no "pin buying" like I've seen in other organizations. And more recently the company has restructured qualifications to discourage that. In fact to do that now, you'd have to be really wealthy in the first place.

Have you been to the Diamond Jeweler site at the Partner Stores? They have some issues to work on. It's impossible to send gifts from there, as the shipping address has to match the credit card. I tried to call their toll phone # to protest, but they were not working this weekend. I've become so spoiled by Amway's operators, I've forgotten how poor service is these days. I had to go to The Bass Pro Shops to console myself, and then Paul Frederick gave me a free tie (minus $7.00 S&H), so it wasn't all a loss.

My baby brother, the All American football player and recent business school grad, didn't start his first 3 new people on the System-no Starter Box and no tapes, or books either. Nor did he plug them into the Opens and Seminars in their area. So they have no idea what to do (outside of ordering stuff) when he's away and they are getting frustrated. He's getting frustrated. And worse, they're signing up people the same way. Soon I'll have one huge group of people out there doing nothing and not making any money at it and wondering why this thing doesn't work. So I have to go now and make some calls to Oregon and get them back on track.

This would be soooo much easier if we could do like a Vulcan Mind Meld or a Frankenstein-like transfer of data. Maybe that's what Trudeau is doing for Don Storms? Either that or there should be a rule that any Diamond who takes more than one vacation a month has to hold nuts & bolts meetings for new people before he can leave for another. I think that's a great idea. Fairness. It's all about fairness.

Gotta go.

Re: Quixtar

you're awesome... I hate Amway, and I can't beleive I was actually listening to some freak guy that I just met at the store I work at about it. He gave me a stupid tape to watch and a retarded cassette and he keeps calling me asking when did I want to goto a seminar. I'm gonna tell him where to stick that seminar, in a nice way of course :)

Never was I into Amway before and I don't want to be fooled by the internet, that's for sure.

Keep up the great work and research :)

Thanks again,

Re: Amway

Your logic is worse. No one asks for a background check in Amway, nor should there be one. Your past is not an issue. Only, your desire to become a better person. If they did not become the type of person that genders respect, their group would not grow. I'm not in Don Storms group, but can you tell me something he has to be ashamed of since he became an Amway Distributor? In the end, we are all people. I can probably find some convicted criminals in my church too. Are you suggesting we should bar anyone from participating in a legitimate business activity like Amway if they have a checkered past? Should all businesses do that? Maybe everyone should deny them opportunity so they have nothing left than a life of crime and a trip back to the big house. Your logic is hypocritical. In fact, it offends my strong feelings that a person should be given an opportunity to put the past behind and build a productive future. I'll take the high road any day. Let you have the hypocritical low road. People can clearly see who has the high road.

You put yourself on this high and mighty "public good" plateau. Well, just in politics, the one that throws the mud usually winds up with the smell.

And finally, you will find the Federal Judge did say that in 1979 after a two year investigation of Amway. The judge said, Not only is it not a pyramid, but it is the model all other MLM's should follow.

Have nice day. I'm sure you are a good person. But, you are not doing Tripod a favor by draging it through the low road. As a Tripod member, I feel offended by Tripod and have second thoughts about why would I be part of Tripod, and pride in being a member of Amway. I don't thing that is your goal.

Re: Amway/Quixtar

I was told by a couple of friends to check out your web site because we have an Amway and a Quixtar business. I just wanted to let you know that we could not be happier with the results of our association with Amway and Quixtar. We are making money, we have met incredibly wonderful people who have become true friends, we are helping other people and seeing their lives improve.

You have a right to your opinion. But some of the messages and "quotes" on your site are so misleading and so biased. We got those messages as they happened. You have taken them out of context in order to manipulate the thinking of those who hit your site and don't have the entire message. I hope you'll do some additional research with an open mind--if you do, you'll discover that Amway and Quixtar are changing lives in a very positive way and giving people hope and a goal in life.

It is working for us--it is working for our friends. Everything we were told was 100% true.

Part II

Sorry to bother you again. I just read a bit more of your information on your site and wanted to clear up one more point.

Anyone getting into the Quixtar or Amway business can get back out real easily. I've signed up lots of people, and only had 1 that wanted out. She was in for a month or so, decided she wanted out. All she had to do was write a very short letter saying she wanted out and mail 1 page out of her business material to the Amway Corporation. They refunded every dime she paid to become a distributor. She had purchased catalogs from me, and I even gave her the money back for those. She was happy with the ease of getting out of the business. Left a positive image.

So anyone that thinks they were tricked into getting in, can simply get out. No problem. There are obviously dishonest people in any business or profession--doesn't mean we all are, or that the business or the profession is bad. Want to discuss lawyers? :) Have a great day.

Here is some information that came from Customer Service (Quixtar). The friend that I had told you about, was quite livid that I was unable to get into the site using her IBO#. So she used her 3 way calling and called the 1800 number I gave her. My friend was told that as soon as the database is updated, her number will be in ( contradicting the sponsors "immediate availability online" ) Also, she was told by her sponsors that for surfers that do not have an IBO number, when they order, or sign up, a sponsor will be chosen by their Zip Code. The IBO's will be rotated ( hmm wonder which ones will get them first???) . Now here again, this is something they were told would happen immediately, as long as they had 100 points, then there number would be in the "lottery". Well talking with CS, this is true, except for " It will take 90 days for your number to be put into that database". Needless to say, they weren't too happy about that. After all, they had just purchased a fax machine through Amway, to earn that 100 points..... I am so glad that I was a good girl and did my research... I did not sign up. I just thought I would let you know that, in case you hadn't already heard it.

Of course I may have told you this before, but not feeling well, my brain is a little clouded, and I am amazed that I can still type without falling over!

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Re: Quixtar

I can't thank you enough for your web site and the information re: Quixtar.

A friend of my boyfriend contacted me about getting involved before Quixtar's debut. This person, was in such a rush to get me over to his house for a meeting the following evening. But I couldn't attend and since he lives a ways away from us, it would be a while before he was in town to get any information to me. The next morning I searched the internet for information and gave my e-mail address to a site to send me information.

Within 1 minute after requesting information from that site, I found your site and wished to hell I'd never sent that e-mail. I received a response that same day with the run down about Quixtar, which I then replied to, asking them to remove me from their e-mail mailing list as I was no longer interested. About 5 days later (today), I received another e-mail from them. I responded telling them to remove me from their list, but after I clicked to send my response I immediately received a message from the Postmaster explaining that the address I sent to does not exist! So, apparently I'm going to be spamed until hell freezes over, great.

Would it be possible for you to explain to me about how to go about reporting this to their Internet Provider Service, or mine or both or if there is anything else I could do about it? Thanks again for your insite!!!!!

Sincerely,

Re: Amway/Quixtar

Thank you for the site. I am an Amway IBO-soon to roll over to Quixtar. The tactics Kevin Trudeau absolute violate the rules set forth by Quixtar. The reason the site will require an IBO# for customers is for the corp. to track purchases and properly credit the referring IBO. The site, if you have visited it, has approximately 50 partners. Members will receive Q pointsfor redemtion on future merchandise. Yes there are slimey distributors who have even less integrity(if that is possible) than Bill Clinton. Unfortunately, people and sites like yours will always hold them up as examples and say that this is what the business is.Where is the mention of people like the church janitor in Michigan who went from minimum wage to over $80,000/yr income over last two years. You wont see the positive side of the business here or on any other ANti-MLM sites. It works for some, it is right for some, just because you don't fall into that catagory doesn't mean that those who do are stupid, dumb ,ignorant, etc.,etc. Believe it or not, not ALL distirbutors are slimey, backalley hucksters(which by the way can be found in ALL professions).

Thanx for letting me vent.

Re: Amway

Face up to it the problem is you not the Amway business.

Re: Quixtar

No, I was not able to get all the way into the site, but then I didn't expect to be able to. With the site receiving as many "hits a day" as it was BEFORE the grand opening, and a little common sense, I figured it would be a very busy site, and hard to get into, my expectations are not unreasonable, what about yours?

thank you for sharing with me about equinox. I am not in any MLM now and have not been for 5 years. I know you probably have heard from several others about the company I am with. Its consumer direct marketing- its based in Idaho falls, Id and we were just at there recent convention that introduced us to a leading fasion designer that developed an excellent skin care line that we will be handle exclusively through catalog sales. You probably have had your fill. But our motto is Enhancing the lives of those we touch by helping them reach their goals. my web page is **. (if I don't ask you will never know- if interested. please send email to me. thanks

Thank the Lord for you job and that you have funds coming in so you can meet you obligations. May God richly bless you each and every day.

Re: Quixtar

I am a Quixtar IBO. I am not a diamond -- my email address reflects a future goal, not current reality.

I just thought you should update your site to reflect that Quixtar opened with 50 partner stores, including several big-name companies like Bass Pro, LensExpress, IBM, and more.

Paul Fredrick Menstyle, by the way, is a very well-known and successul seller of high-end men's clothing. I have bought from them through their catalogs for years.

As for your analysis of the tools business, you are way off base.

Do the big pins make money off tools? yes. But they make more off of the sales of products, and that gap will widen as Quixtar has broadened both the range of products available and the ease of purchasing them.

I was an Amway distributor for three years before switching over last week to Quixtar and during that time I participated fully in the system and also did most of my shopping through the Amway cataogs.

I did a six-month analysis of my tool and product spending and here is, in a nutshell, what I found:

The products I purchased saved me approximately $100 to $120 per month compared to similar or identical products at the retail stores and local mall. (Just one example: the shirts I wear I used to get for $36 at the mall, or about $39 including sales tax. And that does not include the $1 or more in gas I burned going to the mall, and the time. Now I buy them through Amway's catalogs, and soon, over the Internet through Quixtar.com. I get them for $30.15 apiece, including tax and including shipping costs-- for the exact same shirt, same brand and everything, and they mail them to my house.

I buy about 15-20 dress shirts per year because I like my shirts new, crisp and starched and starch wears them out fast, so that means I save about $90-$135 a year just on shirts.Interestingly, the same brand of shirt can be bought at an outlet store near me, for $31.93 per shirt including tax. I still get a better price through Amway (and Quixtar) and I don't burn gas or waste time going to get them.)

I also saved an estimated $20 per month in gas by ordering almost everything I buy from home and having it all delivered to my home.

I also saved approximately 5 hours per month in shopping time -- and as a freelance copy writer and business journalist I bill from $25 to $40 per hour, so that saved me $125 to $200 in lost time that I was able to use to generate income instead of sit in traffic or look for a parking space.

Total savings per month: at least $265.

My participation in the system costs me about $200 per month if you include tapes, meetings and a pro-rated share of major conventions. However, many of the tapes I buy I pass out for free to prospects and new IBOs, so I get additional value out of them.

I am just a single person, I don't have a family, yet I still save enough on my own personal purchases to finance my participation in the system A family of four could easily save $300 to $600 per month by buying through the catalogs or the Quixtar site--the prices are that good. I tell my prospects that if they don't want to build a business, at least get in so they can save money, and if that's all they want to do, I don't sell them tapes.

The new I-M-C structure for Quixtar (Independent Business Owner-Member-Client) reflects that approach. Members in my Quixtar business will not be urged to buy tapes or go to meetings. Only people in my group who want to build a large Quixtar income will be urged to listen to tapes and attend meetings because, in my experience, the system has helped me build a large group faster.

The largest single leg of my group is in a city 850 miles from my home. I can't fly there every other day to hold seminars and train new IBOs, but I can mail them a tape. Airfare would cost $250 to $500, and a hotel would run me $75 a night, but I can mail them a $6 tape for about a buck postage. That saves me hundreds of dollars, plus they can play it over and over and really learn the things they need to know to build their Quixtar business without me being there to teach them. So I save money and time by using the system, they make money by building a Quixtar business, and I make a residual income off their Quixtar business. For that, I am more than willing to pay my upline Direct, Emerald and Diamond a small profit on the tapes. Think about it. A tape costs me $6. It costs me $6 to hire a millionaire to go teach my group how to build the business. What would it cost to actually send the actual millionaire there? Airfare, hotel, and a helluva lot more than six bucks for his time.

I'm not trying to change your mind and you won't be able to change mine. I was a business journalist for 10 years and have researched virtually every kind of business there is. I also now work for an Internet company that develops content to help web sites become "sticky" sites that draw repeat visitors and customers. Quixtar will be the ultimate sticky site. You can reasonably expect it to do $2 billion this year, and ten times that by 2002, if not sooner. Amazon will never catch it -- not with their business plan that stresses losing millions of dollars, and not with their having to spend more than a billion to build warehouses, and not with their having competitors such as Buy.com, BN.com and others willing to play the same game and lose millions to try to draw customers.

Ask yourself this: What is the difference between amazon.com and Barnes & Noble's bn.com? Nothing, really. The same books at the same price shipped the same way, and both sites offer similar search functions, similar customer reviews, etc... Now, imagine if Quixtar signs a deal with one of them to be a partner store. Suddenly, 1.5 million Amway and Quixtar IBOs have a financial vested interest in promoting one web store over the other. Right now, as an avid book-buyer, I sometimes shop at the local book store, some times thru Amazon and sometimes at bn.com because I have no financial vested interest in shopping at any specific store. But if Quixtar makes bn.com a partner store, I'll never buy another book at the local store or thru Amazon again. Why? I'd get better prices through bn.com by linking to bn.com through Quixtar, and I'd get money for urging other people to do the same. If they're paying me for word-of-mouth advertising, I'd be a fool to shop anywhere else.

(Note: I have no inside information that bn.com will be in the Quixtar mall--was just using it as an example.)

Quixtar will be huge because of three things: 1. The Internet is wiping out the middleman, and that includes traditional retail stores, because it is vastly more efficient to sell direct. 2.Quixtar, unlike most e-commerce companies, has a string of warehouses nationwide (it has contracted Amway for shipping and logistics, and Amway is a master of efficient, fast, inexpensive home delivery) Amazon, by contrast, is spending more than $1 billion raised through a junk bond offering (read: DEBT) to build warehouses. 3. The main challenge of e-commerce web sites is to attract and retain customers, a challenge most are attacking with millions and hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising. Amazon is the poster child for that approach, and founder Jeff Bezos predicts Amazon will lose money "for the forseable future." Quixtar, by contrast, is spending its marketing money to pay IBOs to promote the site.Word-of-mouth advertising is the most cost-effective advertising there is or has ever been, and by giving its customers a financial vested interested in promoting the site, Quixtar creates the ultimate sticky e-commerce web site.

Good luck to you in whatever you do.

The end.

Re: Amway/Quixtar

WOW, I took a look at your web site, and I have to say, a lot of time was spent on it. You must be very proud. However, I have to wonder that if you spent half of the time examining Quixtar and Amway as you have putting your opinions down on your site about them, maybe you can educate your self about what it really is about.

I researched Amway for many years before getting involved. Not one year has gone by that I lost money, in fact, I have made more money each and every year (including the expenses going to events).

Many of the questions asked on your site have been answered, and unlike MLM's (Amway is NOT a MLM) Amway has never promised or said you can get rich quick. If you have been told that, then let me apologize to you for being mislead. Maybe you should talk to the people who have the facts. After all, would you like info on what it is like to be a doctor? Then ask a doctor, not someone who failed medical school. While I disagree with your stance and feel that you should educate yourself on what the business is REALLY about, I respect you for stating your OPINION. Although I have a problem with what you are teaching, I will fight for your right to say it. Do yourself a favour and look at it from BOTH sides. you might learn something. Although I do not want to .... (how did you put it?) recruit you into the business, I would like you to visit the following site and from it take a look at the Quixtar site. ** I would consider it a priviledge if you would look at it and educate yourself about the business and ask me hard questions about the business. I will not pull punches in answering them and make sure ALL of them are answered. Again, I respect your opinion and although I do not agree believe in your right to express them and will continue to fight for that right as long as I live. I just feel (personally) that your energy and time could be used towards better things.Obviously you are very talented and I personally feel that talent is being wasted on such an endeavour. Good Luck, and I am looking forward to answering you questions in the near future Sincerly,

Re: Amway/Quixtar

I do believe that, in the case of Amway and Quixtar, you've encountered some very unscrupulous and/or misinformed individuals distributors and IBO's. They are skewing your view of what Amway and Quixtar are really about.

Do you really believe that out of over 1 million distributors in the US, all of them are going to be honest and present their business opportunity in the best manner. No, it can't possibly happen. There are always going to be folk after a quick buck who will dishonestly hype a ulti-Level business opportunity.

I think that if you really wanted to honestly know more, you would contact the owners of Amway, Quixtar, and Don Storms directly before posting unsubstatiated information about them on your web site.

Also, please continue your research of OceanEssentials and it's owners. It is a new company, that is promoting a new product. However, The companies and reseach behind OE will surprise you! You'll find that the owners of Amway liked the company so much that they invested in the OE. BTW, the OE web site is up and running. I will check back with your web site in a few week to see that you have posted your findings.

Re: Thanks

Thank you for taking you'r time to create your site and give reply to those of us who write. I found your site to be interesting as well as educational. We hope many more people read it. Once again Thank You so much.

Re: Quixtar

Just a short note to thank you for presenting "the other side." "Quixtar" was mentioned to me by a trusted friend, so I decided to check it out and was quite impressed with how professional their website was. I was almost completely enticed . . . Your site was included in the search results when I looked up the "Quixtar" and I checked it out (thankfully!) -- out of curiosity. (A couple of years ago I got involved in Herbalife and it didn't work for me, and, boy, how I wished I had researched more before paying out the HUGE start up cost as a Supervisor! Hopefully I have learned my lesson) Anyway, thanks for straightening out all the facts! Your site is very informative and contrary to other e-mails I didn't find it "negative" . . . but then I am not involved in Amway!

Keep on the good work!
