Re: Quixtar

Hello again!

I emailed you awhile back about my experiences when Quixtar launched. Interesting to read other responses from other distributors/IBO's who "saw the light".

Now I have a question for you.

Will there be a way to find out in 2000 how many IBOs switched to Member status?

We renewed as Members only to buy products at wholesale. Despite my lying, holier-than-thou upline, I am loyal to many products (laundry, vitamins, hair care, skin care) and plan on continuing to purchase them. I wonder how many IBOs feel the same way?

Thanks and keep up the work--hope Amway lawyers don't shut you down too. :-)

Re: Amway

On July 1999 J began, for the second time, to use amway's products. (Please, excuse me for my "poor" english) Some years ago, in 1991, one of my friends, took me in amway, but I didn't like products, for its prices, many lire, and J didn't like the appointments. the conferences. Now J am finding to understand if j can save money using amway's products. Still j don't like the organisation and j am not interested in the activity, J only want to know if the products are so good as "they" telle to me and if j can save my money. If you can give me the answer, or the anseweres j thank yoi with all my heart. Excuse for my shortness, but j don't know j can explain better. Sincerely

Thank you for your informative information about MLM organizations. I am a top level distributor in a major MLM. The company is trying numerous legal tricks to get the distributors to sign a new contract that is extremely binding and one-sided. Several of us who are top level distributors and who have much better, older contracts do not want to abandon our old contracts. We have agreed among ourselves to hire some legal assistance. We would like to find some legal help that is familiar with MLM arrangements, contracts, and distributor strategies in opposing the MLM. Can you please tell us how we can find law firms with this specialty and experience? Thank you very, very much.

Re: VisionQuest

My wife and myself are thinking of getting involved with a company run by Steve Gouldd (Visionquest Worldwide) who I believe is Bill Gouldd,s brother and was at one time involved with Equinox. I have just read the stories on your page and have become a little scared! How was Steve involved and what have you heard about His venture in Visionquest?

Re: Quixtar

Your page on Quixtar stats is completely off base. The rankings were based on a PER WEEK bases. You are stating a per month bases. Get your facts straight. Now let's look at one other vary important fact. NOT ALL AMWAY IBO'S ARE ONLINE OR EVEN PARTICIPATING IN QUIXTAR!. So your $1 per IBO "fact" is just as bad as the Microsoft investment in Quixtar crap that you report has been spread. I personally never heard that one nor any of the other mis-information you have published. I guess that I'm just lucky. It's interesting how you "forgot" to publish that Sept. 16th was Quixtar's first million dollar day. If I go by the last internet usage stat I read of 50%, that's 500,000 IBO's online (3 unique users per IBO for September). Now with only 41% active, that's 205,000 IBO's (8.19 unique users per IBO). Amazon claims 8,000,000 customers which equals 1.532 unique users per customer for the same time period. Of course you wouldn't publish anything like that because it would be truth that is pro-Quixtar. I believe in giving the whole truth. If I hear anyone, including my diamond, saying something that is false, I correct it. Even if it downplays Quixtar. Fortunately my Diamond listens to me and respects my opinion and makes sure the rest of the diamonds in the AMO I belong to hear it. I just wish you would do the same instead of using your own smoke and mirrors.

Part II

Read you own page. You give a per month bases. Not a per week bases. Even a brain-dead person can see that.

Only a brain-dead person would use the entire North American IBO force for an average. Only a stupid person would believe that to be a real number. Only a scam artist would use it. If you want to tell the truth, use real numbers in proper context. If you were doing that, I would never had written you.

Part III

It's good that you can laugh at yourself that way. I hope you can see the ridiculousness of the numbers you put on your page. So if you truly believe in the disclaimer you have on your site, you'll change it to show real numbers. Like dollars per unique visitor. Hey, that sounds like a real number. Using Quixtar's dollars per Amway IBO is like comparing Amazon's dollars per world population. It's an average, but way off base.

You put on your site: "I don't know where McDonald got his September 11 claim of being #22 when Quixtar ended the month at #216. In a November 9 press release, PCData Online ranked JCrew and Land's End at #22 and 23 respectively for the month of October. According to that article, Chipshot was the #22-ranked "e-tailer" for September."

That claim was made based on weekly rankings which require a subscription to get. If you want to pay the $9500 to get it, go right ahead. But the fact is, you're comparing weekly rankings to monthly rankings. That is deceptive. That is not following what you said in your disclaimer. If you want to show the monthly stats to prove that Quixtar is not where some IBO's are claiming it is, please do. That would be telling the truth.

Re: Quixtar

Read your stats on Quixtar and they made me laugh. Keep up the good work. I nearly got scammed but got out just before taking the plunge. The stats from PCdataonline, for November show Quixtar at #634 with a unique user number of 865,000. They can't even be selling to themselves with that low of a number. Again keep up the great work I love your site.

Re: Pre-Paid Legal Services

To whom it may concern,

I came across your page while doing some research. I have been approached by an associate for Pre-Paid Legal Services. In my research I have found seemingly accurate information from independent sources (Forbes, Fortune, BBB) that indicates this to be a strong company of good repute. I am leary, however, of any business that incorporates recruiting into its model. Do you have any information on this company? Anything you could provide me would be of help.

Thanks in Advance,

Re: Melaleuca

Hello, I have just been approached by a gentleman pushing this company. Where or how can I find more info on them. I am tired of the MLM scams, NSA,3D Camera,Enrich,Rexall,Quixtar, and the list goes on.

I just want to make alittle extra income from home. I am in a position that I can't work(away from home) and don't really need to as I am comfortable where I am, but would like to earn alittle extra. Does anyone know who these people are? What is involved besides the $29.00? Is there direct selling or recruiting? Meetings? upline, etc???

Help

Thanks,

Re: Quixtar

hi, yesterday i went to this quixtar meeting for the first time after some IBO invited me there for a 'business opportunity'. I could tell from the way that the profits were being showed (ie 6000$/month for getting 7 IBO's etc), that they were nothing but quacks. Like Quixtar does not print currency, hell!, they have to sell stuff and make money, and the producers aren't giving their merchandize for free to these quixtar.

Your site was VERY helpful and i appreciate ur effort for waring gullible people against people who loot in the name of free enterprise.

Regards,

Re: Quixtar

I, **, DO HEREBY REQUEST THAT AMWAY, AKA, QUIXTAR FULLY REFUND ME THE $157 INVESTMENT I MADE TO THIS CO. WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT I HAVE A FULL YEAR TO GET A REFUND IF I AM NOT FULLY SATISFIED! AND I AM NOT! I WANT EVERY PENNY OF MY MONEY BACK, ASAP! I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE A RESONSE IN THIS MATTER ASAP.

Re: Primerica

Thank you for an informative web site. I noticed that the link for information regarding Primerica is not available. We are seriously considering this company as a business opportunity and would like to have more information. Thank you for your time.

Re: Quixtar

When you suscribe to the Quixnet.net ISP offered through Quixtar.com you have a choice. To filter or not to filter. If you have a family unit online than you may choose to filter your web viewing. However, if you are a single, adult , you can choose not to filter and view any website you choose.

Re: Quixtar

Hi, my name is "B"- I just want to say that I am currently a Quixtar IBO and signed up a few months before September 1, 1999. I was told very accurate information about who (Amway) was starting Quixtar and that until Sep. 1 I would be an Amway IBO. I haven't been forced to do anything since I started my business. Everything I have done has been from my own free will. I am a successful businessman and work in a large corporation. I was approached by my sponsor while on a trip and it went from there. I have been to two quarterly functions and am preparing to go to my third. I enjoy them, as it is very different from dull corporate life. I like the entertainment and the motivation. There was no prejudice towards Christianity, and there were about 20 other services held on Sunday for all different religions. There were diamonds of different religions speaking at the function. I think the functions are a great motivational tool. I don't necessarily think you have to stay for the entire thing... leave when you want - you ARE your own person. We left Sunday morning at one, and another we left in the middle of the church service Sunday afternoon. We have decided not to go to a "night-owl" before, no one minded. I have a successful business and cover many aspects. I have been selling a few products to offset the costs I incur in my business. I promote products that we offer, and they ARE high quality. I do not, however, have a house full of Amway products. My fiancé cannot use anything with fragrance in it because of a sensitive skin condition and therefore does not use any soap or cosmetic product Amway offers (or other product with fragrance in it). We use a few products, such as long distance and vitamins. My family is very supportive and I have not abandoned anyone or anything to do this. I am a member of a fraternity (which is not a cult either) and am still very active. I support the fraternity and my Brothers very much. They also support me in my business. I have sponsored several people, one of which is my fiancé. She has a large group and is a great leader. She is very independent and has not been told to "submit" to me in any way. I do not try to sponsor everyone I come in contact with, because most people I meet have no ambitions or qualifications to own their own business. I choose who I show this to and select cautiously. I show intelligent businessmen that are already making good incomes. I agree that horror stories are out there. I believe that some people in this organization (as with any) might be corrupt. My point is that the company (Quixtar/Amway) is a very sound corporation and tries very hard to do the right thing. I have had absolutely no complaints from customer or my downline with sending products back or delivery problems. The site has been improving constantly since it opened on Sep 1 and we are all really excited about it. I encourage what you are doing, and that is why I am sending this email. I have read that you don't disapprove of Amway/Quixtar, but the independent organizations of Independent Business Owners that are affiliated with it. I implore you to show people that not every organization is like that. My organization is strong and will continue to grow. I am happy to see the bad organizations exposed. I hope that, in time, Amway/Quixtar will investigate and take action against them.

I just wanted to give a little perspective from the other side, whether or not you post this is your decision. I just had to tell about my experience.

"B"

P.S. I am truly sorry that you had a very bad experience but I have been listening to a few tapes and I have as yet not been "brainwashed" or lost any friends because of it. I like motivation, it gives me a little "pump" to get things going. I do not, however, neglect my family and friends because I have my priorities straight. God is first, ALWAYS. Family, which includes immediate, fraternal, and friends is second. And last is business. I understand that weak people might succumb more easily to motivation than others, but you are your own person. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, and in ANY organization they cannot "kick" you out for not listening to tapes or being on Amvox (which I am not on and still have a successful business). Sometimes I hear examples of people that get "brainwashed" in this business and it makes me laugh. If your that easily manipulated and ignorant, I don't want you in my business. I want thinkers, intelligent business people who can make decisions for themselves. I want problem solvers, leaders. Personally, I would have never sponsored you, or even shown you the plan. I guess that's what makes me different from the other "organizations" because I don't tell fifty people a week what I do. I slowly select one at a time and when I feel they're intelligent enough and bright enough, I invite them to see what I do.

Re: Amway

Hi, I'm a current Amway/Bill Britt Org. distributor who does NOT plan to renew after this year. I've been in since 1991 and simply have grown tired of losing money, faking the excitement, blah blah blah.......

I've been reading the anti-Amway sites for months now. I've noticed that most of the bad stories originate from the Dexter Yeager groups. Now I know Bill Britt is a spin-off of Dexter since he is in, but do you get just as many Britt complaints/disaster stories??? I just haven't read any stories from disgruntled big pins within the Britt group......any thoughts???

Thanks for the web site and all your hard work.

Oh yeah, a co-worker just went through the Quixtar hype. I didn't tell him any negative things, cause I wanted his honest reaction after going to a couple meetings......it take him long to figure out the scam and hype and tools scam.

Thanks and take care,

Re: Melaleuca

Hi, I have a director status in Melaleuca. I have been a preferred customer for nearly two years. And I have been working the business for a year and 1/2, tho, I haven't made a killing or able leave my present job, I will say that if you do work at the business, you can make some money. The money and bonus that I have made (monthly) does pay for my horse's upkeep, this was the whole reson for doing a Melaleuca business. And I was really scared about getting involved with any kind of marketing program. One thing people need to do, is really know what the difference is between a MLM and Consumer Direct Marketing as Melaleuca is. There are major differences.

Its all up to how much time YOU put into it. Its YOUR business, so it is up to YOU to make it work. If you desire to stop working the 9-5 thing, then you need to work at your business. I have about 20 preferred customers that order their consumer products each and every month...faithfully. I don't have to badger them or be on them to enroll others. They do it themselves. I was "courted" by a Amway person, and after 3 luncheon dates I finally asked the question "are you trying to enroll me into Amway?" She wouldn't tell me, only that " just that it was distribution of goods." I finally got her to tell me "yes, it is Amway". Soooo secretive, why not be up front????

I am very pleased to tell you that I am a preferred customer and have a home based business with Melaleuca. If you are ever approched by a Melaleuca person, listen to them and judge for yourself. Each time I place my own personal order, I am helping seven other families with their financial dreams. And when one of my preferred customers, orders, they are helping me and 6 families with financial dreams.

Also the really cool thing about Melaleuca is the residual income that comes each and every month, I don't have to handle the money, inventory or deliver products and the products are Consumable Products that are used and replaced because they are used. Everytime a customer orders, I get a commision on what they bought. And yes there is a monthly minimuin, but you would spend the money at your local grocery store anyway for a lesser product. So its a shopping choice. I probadly will never look at this web site again, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents worth.

Merry Christmas Dec 1999

Sincerely

Re: Amway

I was involved in Amway approximately 15 years ago and I am still amused at the starry eyed distributors who still can't tell you it's Amway until they have you cornered in some meeting. After all these years, the reason I am told, is because Amway is so misunderstood. Goooood Grieff!!! if you can't clean up your act after two decades when are you going to clean it up. Actually I could spend another 30 min. with Amway stories but life is too short. My name is Mark Keyser and I need help. I am a trade Broker in California with a few positive and profitable years with network marketing. I am currently involved with what appears to be the fastest growing mlm in the U.S. We are selling in over 100 countries currently after only 11 months in business and the hottest market so far are the Pacific Rim Countries, Specifically Australia, Japan,New Zealand etc. The only problem is I know no one in these countries. I am on the internet trying to make some contacts when I came across this Web site. All I am looking for is a starting point for some contacts anywhere in Australia. People, companies, advertising, etc. The company is called SkyBiz 2000 and they are currently the largest seller of Websites in the world. From a marketing standpoint (my major in school) any time you can deliver a product anywhere in the world in 10 seconds and get paid for it without you or the buyer having to go anywhere for a cost of $100.00 their is potential to say the least. Needless to say because of the internet explosion there are already dozens and dozens of distributors making in excess of 10,000 per month. Again any type of information would be helpful. I will return all phone calls. My Web site is **.

Thank you

Re: Amway

Your story is all to common, I to fell prey. Although what I have to say is not negative, at least not completely. Amway was a great fault to my young marriage.(we are still married) One of my "up line" told me that I should leave my wife, because I would never get anywhere with her. I started thinking one day. Well I know what it costs to rent a small motel conference room, so what were they doing with the rest of the money? Then I put the plan to math. Dexter Yeager could not possibly make the kind of money he was making, with the override on the plan. Then I thought, well the tapes have to come from somewhere. Anyway after two years of spending, as much as I was making, I decided to call it quits. However I have to be fair I walked away, from the business, but I kept my dream. Before Amway, came I didn't believe I was able to succeed at anything. I guess I did get good encouragment, because now I am working everyday and making progress toward my goals. I am currently a Market America UFO. I sell the business as a self improvement plan discguized as a business. I don't put people on transfer buying, I don't pressure them to go to meetings, and I don't sign them up for voice mail. My upline gets upset, but as a group we not only make a little money, but we share with one another the great ways to improve the quality of life. Although I wish Amway would just quit, ther are positives that come out of the business. Anything to get people out of their comfort zones, can be tremendously positive, or tremendously negative. Good luck, If I can help in any way let me know. I am not afraid of litigation, I have a strong commitment to my constitutional rights.

Good Luck, and I am sorry not only for your situation, but some of the ones I created myself.

Re: Amway

I coudn't agree more, Amway is a cult. I know,I was part of a cult for two and a half years, and I was in Amway. They can polish it up, fix it up, call it what they like. It's a CULT. Thumbs up to you for having the guts to speak up. And don't let anybody steal that from you.

Thanks

Re: Quixtar

I have checked out your site and am new to Quixtar myself. With all this information you gave I can't say that any of it is bad. It makes me want to sign up. The leading edge is the bleeding edge.
