Re: WINLTD Has anyone heard of this MLM company? WINLTD? Re: Prepaid Legal Thanx so much for your reply. I have a problem. My wifes best friend's husband got involved with Prepaid Legal services about 1year ago. I swear when I met with him He had AMBOT signs written all over him. I did reasearch on PPL and found some FTC regulation problem awhile back on thier site. Every time we went out he would not stop at the "gonna get rich thing" over and over. I have since found out that he callled me a loser for not joining. It is an MLM. It doesn't bother me that he said that seeing as my experience in the past with Amway. He has since left his wife and in her words "once he started this he became a completely different person." I am having a very hard time trying to dig up stuff on them as they are run by heavy hitters in the legal field I assume. She has gone thru hell with him and she really loved him and still does even though he has moved out. I truly feel so much saddness for her and am sad for him as he obviously has his eyes tied shut. I have heard that he has made little or no money from this from his wife and he dodged the question when I asked him before he split. I tried to talk to him in the beginning because I saw a great similarity in the seminars, open meetings, etc.... If you know anything about PPL could you please E-Mail me? Maybe it's not too late to help. I would hate to see another marriage fall victom to the MLM problem. He was a good man before this and his wife still has made attemps to keep the marriage. Any info would be of great help. When I surf all I get is robot PPL sites over and over again. It seems to be spreading like wild fire. I had never heard of them before. The FTC case is real. It came from thier website. Thanx again. It's so nice not to be the only victim and have such a supportive site like yours that is straight forward and honest. Awaiting your reply, do you happen to know when the vernal equinox was? Re: Rexall.com Do you have any history or info on this MLM (Rexall.com)? It is interesting that they use the term IBO and independent business owner in their materials just like quixtar. Re: Amway I am very concerned about your comments you are making about Amway. If you are truly trying to help others why are you selling a book to gain a profit?I think if you want to help others through your story you would'nt be looking for a profit. Is'nt this type of practice similar to the what you said, about profit being gained by others in Amway when distributors purchase tapes and books. I hope you will do some soul searching before you continue to hurt others with gaining a profit from your story. Sincerely, Re: Amway Hi Ruth, Just thought that I'd touch base with you yet again, I hope you're not getting sick of me... Well, I checked out Backstreet Publishing, and I might get a copy of your book sometime: just to see what pit-falls to avoid. (I also need to check out delivery costs to New Zealand, and see if it is possible to order without a credit card. I DO NOT WANT a credit card, as it is designed to keep people broke.) There is some interesting stuff there. On the part about retailing products, and how for it to be legal, 70% of sales must be to retail customers (at least in the US of A), I figured that IRRESPECTIVE of the ruling, having retail customers just makes damn good business sense- I mean like most people out there are not interested in the business, and whenever you go to McDonald's, they don't give you a sales pitch on the benefits of owning a McDonald's franchise. I'm modifying my phone call. If I ever cold call you, you will know if it is me 'cos if you are not interested in the business oppourtunity, chances are that you may like to change your shopping habits. (And if you don't, would you honestly be offended if someone asked you if you would like to save money on your shopping- most Amway products have better value than products bought in the supermarket. Yes, I do service retail customers.) Also, on the note about products, and how they must have value outside the scheme, well in New Zealand, Amway is involved with major brands such as Mobil Oil (who sell petrol), valvoline (automotive products), Compaq Computers (no explanation necessary), Blue Star (a major player in the office stationery line in New Zealand- they also retail through their own stores, and people do shop there.) Somehow, I think that these products also sell to non- Amway distributors! As for the business, this business is all about people. Sure, you make your money by moving product, but believe it or not, PRODUCTS ARE BOUGHT BY PEOPLE! This is where the system comes in. For those people, like me, who have very little natural ability to deal with people, I find the system invaluable. Okay, so you might say that my upline makes money out of the sales of the books, tapes and function tickets (which incidentally they do), but the book shop also makes money out of the sale of books, only in the many instances where the system books are also sold in store, we normally have them 2-3 months earlier, AND CHEAPER! On the note of the books, I have no problem with upline diamonds, emeralds, etc making money out of that as long as the service I receive off them is superior to the store. With the tapes on the other hand, I believe that the only people who should make any real money out of that are the speakers on the basis of royalties. Remember, if I make like Alan Pease (www.peasetraining.com or www.peasetraining.com.au) and publish sales training material, I would collect royalties. Also, as these tapes would in many instances also be sold cross-line, I believe that royalties should apply, as I have no interest in the business success of my cross-line, although I have many good friends cross-line, so naturally I want them to succeed. But anyway, I'm building a good solid distributor and customer base, so I'm eventually going to do quite well with this business. (And satisfy people such as yourself that having retail customers is VERY USEFUL to have with this business.) I have also heard (from upline) that sometimes good distributors come from the customers I service- either as leads, or the customer. (Note, that bit about how you don't get a sales pitch about the benefits of owning a McDonalds came from Network Marketing Lifestyles, a magazine I don't buy except for any particular articles, but the point that they were making was that in Network Marketing, the industry is missing out on doing really huge business, as too many distributors neglect retail sales. I don't mind if other distributors neglect that- it leaves more customers there for me.) Anyhow, I've gotta run. All the best, and good luck to you, Re: Equinox Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with Equinox. I had never heard of the company until Tuesday when I attended my first briefing. I attended another one today. You have confirmed several of my gut level impressions. Thank you so much!!! You've done a very good deed. God bless you - and good luck. Re: Amway I am so damn relieved to see this, and all the other anti-scamway, sites! My partner (and soul-mate) of 4 years has been sucked in. I would fight to the death to get her back, but I know only she will only resent me if I give the 'me or the 'business' approach. She is the one who will have to take the initiative, and only she can 'deprogram' her self. Unfortunately, her background is very religious, and the evangelistic approach Scamway must feel 'familiar' to her....comforting perhaps? I look forward to reading Behind the 'Smoke and Mirrors', hopefully it will help me get the woman I fell in love with back. Thank you for such a validating site! People just don't understand how quickly this 'business' takes control and destroys lives. Re: Maxxis2000 i have a friend who told me about some mlm about magnets, after i told her that mlm schemes are for the birds she clammed up on me,i emailed her your site and even sent her the part about pyramids. i have received emails from her and she didn't say a word about any of it,i think she may be already in one. ps what do you know about maxxis 2000...i had another person mention it to me,i told him about mlm's and he said he had lost money before on other mlm's..some people just don't learn.. Re: Excel I have just came back from and excel meeting. I have been intruduced to other programs such as this. I must have been in a trance. I quickly returned home to take a look at their website. I am a born again Christian, I believe that I can't serve two Gods, the God of the Universe and the God of Mammon. I was curious if there were any articles online regarding this company, any negative insight. I typed network marketing in my search query and your page was one of the top listings. I thank you for providing this information. I strongly feel that this helpful list of "10 lies of MLM needs to be distributed amongst the deceived, especially the MLM'ers target market. The college students. I will be showing this web page to my neighbor who kindly showed me the excel plan earlier this evening. Re: Amway Hi, If you want to run a site like this, then why not change your name? Why not call it "I Hate Amway" or something like that? There are a lot of us out here who make a decent living in network marketing and DO have "time freedom" to spend with our children and spouse. I can understand the hurt from being "burnt" by an opportunity. I personally try to discourage people from joining the "Tape of the Week Club" (amway) myself. But there is no need to bash the industry. Ralph Nader is respected because he championed causes protecting the consumer that were not a personal vendetta. You would be much more effective if you would just stick to "fraud" and not attacking the industry as a whole. The letters that you have from readers are mostly negative. Who wants to listen to a bunch of negativity? (By the way, I was in to positive thinking way before I was into networking) There are many logical fallacies in the letters and arguments. If you want more people to take your "cause" seriously you should remove the stuff that is silly. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me know. I'll show you. Have a great day, Re: Herbalife Hi, Just read through your latest e-mails and found them very interesting. I sent an e-mail on February 12 about my experiences with Herbalife and was wondering why it hasn't appeared on the MLM Survivor site? A reply would be appreciated. Thank you. Re: Quixtar/Amway I'm looking for new information on Quixtar / Amway. I have a friend that got sucked into the scam. I've given him a copy of everything I could find on the internet. I can't find anything current. He still thinks this amway on the web business is going to make him a fortune. Please Help!!! Re: Delfin Hi Ruth, Do you have any info on this scam called Delfin. I am trying to help someone I know who is deep into this nonsense. All they can see is the money that is promised. Thanks, Re: Quixtar Thank you so much Ruth for your response.....I actually did not expect one! She is with the Quixtar thing. I have no idea who her 'Diamond' is......She is very aware of how I feel about the whole thing, and I think she is just hoping that I will become enlightened somehow....She is hoping to prove to me that she can make 'the business work' .....I did go to one meeting, in the basement of a seedy motel, and it was next to impossible to stop from throwing up. I so understand how she truly believes she is 'helping' others, and I know she believes that she can help me fulfill my dreams if she can make the 'plan' work for her.....she is so well meaning and good-hearted, it kills me to see her build her hopes up like this. I'm damned if I just sit here and watch her climb to a devastating fall (emotional, mental, self-esteem...etc all blown to bits), and I'm damned if I leave her to make her own mistakes...I love her with all my heart and soul, how can I leave?....I am so torn. Worse yet, her older brother (also a wonderful person, but VERY mis-lead, and missing out on the best moments of his 3 young boys growing up as he drives hours to rallies, and 'plan showings'....) is swept up in it. He is the one who convinced her to join. I can't compete with big brother...no pun intended. Its how I imagine purgatory to be. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Again, thanks for the kind words. Yours Truly, Re: Quixtar Latest www.pcdatonline stats, quixtar continues to tumble down to #1094 in March. (#1021 in February) How long before ScAmway shuts quixtar down for lack of business? My Name is ** I am a distributor with a lot of questions I have my own doubts and would like to have a personal conversation with you. This site may have sealed what I already thought, please email me back if you are willing. I, like you, have done everything asked but won't turn over a list of names and numbers and as a result of the pressure I have not sponsored anyone. Tuesday I am supposed to have a house meeting but my second sense is on high alert and that is why I am on your site and would like your input. Look foward to you response Re: Equinox I was involved with Equinox for 5 years. During this time I held leases on three offices and my husband was an "official" volunteer for Equinox's training company AMS. At the end of it all, we had lost almost $118,000.00 (yes, you read right). I am now hoping to be part of the class action law suit against Equinox. As far as I know, we have lost more money than anyone I have ever heard of to an MLM company. To bad there was no prize offered for this dubious acheivement, I'd like to recoup at least a little of our losses. Re: Excel Hi Ruth, I would like to know more about Excel and some their practices that have been publicized. I have a brainwashed friend that needs help from the dream that 3 cents, 2,187 reps, and thousands and thousands of customers are going make her rich. I have a real problem with this company because they recruit people for X amount of dollars and give it as a bonus to the rep if they jump through the hoops and let them believe its from production. I have heard that they are going to operate as a company that resembles the big three with no reps......... so all these people get retired. I just want to know what someone knows out there on this matter or if you can maybe include Excel info on the website. Thank you, Hello: Here is an interesting view which I read on the network marketing news.com website. Food for thought, indeed. Sincerely, I hear all to often the complaint that "the guys at the top are making money off the guys on the bottom". This conjures up an image of a fat cat sitting on top of a pile of slaves working themselves to death as he does nothing to reap the rewards of "getting in on the ground floor first". I would like to present another way of looking at it and then see if you still complain about MLM. The sales manager at a car dealership hires salesmen, trains them, encourages and motivates them, and for this talent and effort in building an effective sales force, he receives a little commission for each sale his salesmen make. He gets paid a commission because that motivates him to do a good job training his sales force. His efforts in building that sales force is what keeps bread on the tables of the factory workers and of the salesmen and of the other employees at the dealership. His work affects for good the lives of many people, and so it is good and right for him to be paid for that. He works plenty, but you just don't see it when you are walking around the dealership. There is a factory back east making a product that won't sell in the stores because it is so advanced it needs in-home demonstration before people will believe and understand how it works. Those factory workers are dependent upon me to sell their product. I had to invest a lot of my personal time and money to educate myself on how the product works, and in obtaining an inventory of demo machines, and then I also had to recruit, train, motivate and encourage other dealers to help me sell these machines, etc. Because of my hard work, I have a sizable group of people out there selling hundreds of machines for the guys back east at the factory. I'm not making money off my downline. I am being paid for the work I did. You might as well say my downline is making money off me, because I introduced them to the business, I trained them, I showed them how to make money, and I continue to work for them to help them earn more money. Everytime the sales force that I created sells a machine, that benefits the guys back east. Shouldn't I be paid for the work I do? How is that evil? How is that immoral? Re: Usana What have you heard about USANA? Re: Amway/Quixtar I'm sorry things did not work out for you but it has worked out for hundreds of thousands including myself here in the United States and all around the world. You may bash the system and business all you want but lets look at the numbers here # 1 producer of Millionaires in the U.S. ( 3500 and counting ) Microsoft ,# 2 producer of Millionaires in the U.S. Amway Corporation ( 2500 and still counting ) # 3 producer of Millionaires in the U.S. Dry Cleaning business ( 1500 and still counting ). Myabe you didn't see that clearly we are number 2 and if your going to have a site on the internet please keep you posted with up to date information. You know apparently companies like Coca Cola, Sony, Panasonic, Reebok, OfficeMax, Bass Pro Shops, Paul Fredrick's, JVC, GM,Ford,Chrysler,Honda,Nissan,Toyota, Mercedes-Benz,Bugle Boy,Calvin Klein,MCI Worldcom,At&T,Toys-R-Us, and roughly about 400 more of the Fortune 500 Companies attorneys and legal counsels believe in the company and I think they have more money when it comes to the legality and ethics of this company so if your gonna bash the company the only reason we see that you won't post the positive about the company is your scared of the truth and you did not succeed so you have to take it out on the Diamonds and the company itself. There is one thing I would like to know what have you succeeded in since your joining the business or have you failed at everything and this is your way to vent and blame the other guy when instead you should be putting the blame on the person for whom you look at in the mirror every morning. So if you want to show the fairness of your website at least give both sides of the story but then again you are hiding behind the internet to voice your opinion why not take an ad out on your local television station or on radio? Good day. Re: Usana my friend who has ms. has heard about usana, do you think there are products out there that can be purchased in a normal drug store that are just as benificial as a good vit suplement. do you recomend usans or not. thank you for your reply in advance |
