Re: Quixtar

I signed the contract on Friday and it is now Sunday, I have alot of info from the freedom of information act, I compiled this in one night. Please email ASAP if you can. I already stopped payment on the check. I'LL sic my lawyer on em if there are any problems getting rid of that IBO number....Thanks.

I read the email sent by the brainwashed individual. too bad you did'nt have what it takes to join the marine corps. Anyway, the regular joe or "civilian does'nt know what brainwashing is, if he or she did, they would know the difference. Brainwashing tactics are not taught in schools. The only way people know about brainwashing is through experience if they have never been subjected to it. You should reconsider your opinion on this matter. Brainwashing is a serious matter. "Remember Adolph Hitler". My god are people that cold to turn the stone so quickly just because they have seen the light. You need to jump out of a plane without a parachute "huuuuurah"............

Please e-mail me back

Ruth,

I'm just dropping a word of thanks for what you are doing. I and, to be sure, many, many others owe you a huge debt of gratitude. I would like to offer any help I can for your cause. If you need research done, articles written, or anything at all, please dont hesitate to ask. I've listed my (home office) phone number below. May God bless you and keep you.

Re: Quixtar

I am writing to let you know the experience I have had as a IBO. I do not have a big group or downline, but I buy all my everyday products from myself and see a return from them. Instead of buying products from a big superstore and giving my money to them I get a return on what I buy from myself. I have had a positive experience with Amway and now with Quixtar. I do listen to tapes and read the books and go to functions. They all give me motivation and help me in everyday life events. I guess it's just how you look at it. I look at it as a investment in my life. Even if I only recieve a few dollars a month from the business it will be worth it to me. Thanks for listening I hope you put some good experiences on your site so people can see different point of view.

I have recently been approached by a company called ITI. They claim they are in communications, telephone service, pagers, internet service. However, it costs you $299 to get in and al they talk about is the money you make, not the 'business'.

One of the principles claims to have been advisor to over 400 millionaires including 50 from Microsoft.

Are you aware of this business?

We are in the Virginia area.

My husband and I started Quixtar a few months ago. At first I attended all the meetings with my husband because I wanted to be supportive. Now that I am not attending with my husband, it seems like all he ever does is go to meetings. We are constantly fighting about him never being home and it is putting a strain on my marriage. I don't want to discourage his dream of becoming financially stable, I just think that this business is not the way to go. Can you help me with my dilema?

Thanks for your time,

Please do not give out my e-mail address on your website, it will only cause more problems between me and my husband.

Thanks

Re: Amway

Hi there. I was recently treated to a talk by one of these Amway distributors here in my home country, Malaysia. He left some materials with me, as of today I still have them. I didnt buy them though, he's supposed to take them back tonight. Since I've worked in direct selling before, I smelled something fishy behind all his glib natter about what a wonderful opportunity Amway is to live a life of a Sultan, etc...I'm sure you're familiar with the rigmarole. So I hit the 'net, where I know I can find some truth, and came across your page, plus a few others. All I can say is, I'm amazed at the magnitude of this scam. Taking into account that I knew nothing about Amway before this slick guy talked to me, your site and the other sites I read are real eye-openers. I'm afraid you've gone and done something very positive, for theres no way now I'll even consider joining Amway. Theres one of those rallies or gatherings taking place here, this friday. Some of the bug names are supposed to be in attendance.

Whats surprising is, the group that is active here is, I believe, Jim Dornan's network 21. I didnt ask when Mr. Slick was gabbing, as I didnt know anything yet, but he did mention a Jim Dornan. I also read in your site that the Malaysian Government, through the Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, was investigating network 21 in 1997. Do you have any further information on this? I resent these Amway gangsters moving into my neighbourhood...its a good neighbourhood, decent people, but they've already managed to get one household into their fold. I also believe that they intend to sell motivational tapes and books and all that crap, for I have never met anyone in Malaysia( or the US in all my years there) who has bought an Amway product.

I've been in Amway twice, i sincerly enjoyed the commradre and traveling to different places. My concern at this moment is the perceived deception that was played on current IBO's and those who registared prior to 9/1/99. How they were not informed that they would have to pay again before the end of the year. How it looks like Amway double dipped with renewal fees while not informing new IBO's how important it was know when the fiscal year began and when it ended. Just imagin if those new IBO's knew that they could have gotten in after 9/1/99 and saved some money while waiting for the dust to settle from the new e-commerence web site. Also as IBO"s we lead to believe that we as current IBO's would be grandfathered in by way of a 25.00 renewal fee to Quixtar. Again i think this was a mistake but, knowone seems to acknowledge the seriousness this oversite. Now everyone has to pay in order to be in both organizations at a $64.00 clip. The only reason i decided to write is that i've tried e-mailing Amway with my concerns and tried speaking with my sponsor to no avail. I also left a message for my upline DD twice. He called me back but we have not had an opportunity to discuess my concerns in any detail. I still beleive in the goodness of the business and i need my dreams to come true. Thanks

Ruth,

Thank you for responding to my question on Rexall. By the way, My wife and I had become IBO's for Quixtar just before their website launched and then found your website after their launch debacle gave us second thoughts. We bought your book and read it and, after confirming the behavior and tactics you wrote about, got out of the business fast. Thanks for saving us a lot of money and time. I guess we are now sort of apologists against MLMs.

MLM are like any other job...they are the most demanding SALES job around. I'm sorry you were not able to handle it. But, just like any other job, if you put the effort into it...it will pay off. Every great basketball player in high school dream of being in the NBA, but only a very few make it...THATS LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!! Same goes for any HIGH risk job..more risk more rewards. Opportunity doesn't come without a cost...i.e. college education, job skills, training...think about it.....so stay in your nice secure safe low paying job the rest of you life...don't take any risk...and leave the rest of the world alone..

How is it? The MINORITY views in our world always seem to out way the MAJORITY.

Thank you for listening,

Re: Amway/Quixtar

To whom it may concern: Yes, I do understand some of your frustrations. How long were you involved? Did you give it your best shot? If you did, then it is to bad it did not work for you. One of the main reasons people get out of " this business" is because they do not have a good relationship with their uplines. But statistics do show that most people do not get out because they do not believe in the products. The functions as you know help people to understand the business and motivate, Amway or Quixtar have thousands of people that are in involved, so sometimes the functions are further then your home, but closer to another IBO's home. Like any business anyone starts you do have some overhead, as I'm sure you understand. This business has as much overhead as you feel you can afford. I'm sorry this did not work out for you but you have to admit that the potential for income is great, otherwise you would not even have this web page. I did a search under Quitter and I found only your web page as a disgruntle distributor, maybe there are others out there but yours is all I found, under a search of 100 web pages. Any reputable business can fail within the first 5 years, and one of every 5 small business owners goes bankrupt within that 5 years. This business gives people other opportunities other then the conventional business owner. I understand you want people to be aware of what they might be getting into, but I noticed that your "facts" really have no relevance. You stated you had to register in order to shop. Well yes that is the point Quixtar is a business for members only, thats the point. I noticed when I went to send you e-mail some tripod thing came up asking me to join as a member, whats that about. All web pages have problems when they first appear, Quixtar was no exception. They continue to make things easier, as do other retail sights. It can take me 40 minutes to go online and order from any other site as well. If this was so bad then reputable retailers like Toys R Us ect. would not be participating in this venture. I find Quixtar easy to us easy to talk about, and yes I have encountered people who think it is a "scam". The sign up fee is $110.00 and of that you get 75.00 worth of excellent products. $35.00 is not much to start a business. All the tools you refer to are optional you do not HAVE to buy them, for goodness sake if you can't afford it don't do it. This is not to be a harsh letter, just an informational one with my experience. making money anywhere can be frustrating why should this be any different if anyone tells you it's easy and you can make quick cash without giving you all the details, then maybe you should look into it more. Our uplines are wonderful teachers, we do not harass anyone, we do not make anyone do anything they do not want to do. The point is if this type of additional income is not for you then don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any IBO will tell that. And as far as your FACTS about the millions of dollars Quixtar did in the first few months, that is true and you facts about the declining profit are true to. Any retail business that opens with excitement weather it is e-commerce or just a retail chain store, always shows a huge increase the first 6 months. Then when the excitement dies, you start to analyze your business and what you realistically are profiting, Quixtar is no different. Quixtar still remains to show wonderful increases in sales and members, clients, IBOs ect. Thank you for letting the people who are successful in this business have a voice as well.
